This notice explains how Lena R. Halden handles information when you visit lenarhalden.com or request the free Author Toolkit.

Who is responsible

Lena R. Halden is responsible for the information you submit through this website. For privacy questions or requests, email lenarhalden.author@gmail.com.

What I use and why

If you request the toolkit, I use your email address to send it. The legal basis is taking steps at your request to provide the toolkit (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). If you separately tick the updates box, I use your email to send occasional news about my books and writing, based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). The toolkit request does not require you to sign up for updates.

Basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser or device details, and form activity, may be processed to deliver and protect the site and form. The basis is my legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working (Article 6(1)(f)). Your email address is needed to receive the toolkit; updates are optional and do not affect delivery. I do not use this information for automated decisions.

Services that help run the site

The signup form and email delivery are provided by MailerLite. The website is hosted and protected by Cloudflare. They may process relevant information as service providers under their privacy and data-processing terms. Their services may involve processing in other countries; where applicable, they describe the safeguards for international transfers in those terms. The embedded form may use technical cookies or browser storage; see MailerLite’s form-cookie information.

How long I keep information

I keep your email while needed to send the toolkit and, if you opted in, while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe or ask me to delete your data, I stop using it for updates and remove it when no longer needed, except for minimal records needed to respect your choice or meet legal obligations. Technical logs are handled according to the providers’ retention terms.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may request a copy of data you provided where the right to data portability applies. You can withdraw newsletter consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting me. You may also complain to the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic.
